After more than a decade in conventional healthcare and healthcare technology, our Founders, Dr. Tracy Kim Townsend, M.D. and her husband Mike Townsend, saw how the system often fails both patients and practitioners.

As a physician and former surgeon, Dr. Townsend witnessed countless people—herself included—suffering from chronic stress, burnout, and disconnection. On paper, everything looked very successful. In reality, she felt depleted, anxious, and unfulfilled. The harder she worked to help others heal, the less connected she felt to her own wellbeing.

That began to change when Dr. Townsend, with the help of Mike, stepped outside the boundaries of conventional medicine. Through meditation and guided experiences with psychedelic medicines, Dr. Townsend began to reconnect with herself, nature, and a sense of meaning she thought she’d lost along the way in her training. Psilocybin, in particular, helped her access profound peace, healing, and clarity. It revealed that true health isn’t achieved through control or achievement. It is cultivated through relationship, presence, and reverence for life.

This awakening inspired the creation of Meadow, a multidisciplinary psychedelic health practice that blends evidence-based medicine, somatic psychology, functional health, and sacred ceremony. Our team includes physicians, facilitators, therapists, and coaches working in concert to deliver world-class psilocybin facilitation care that is safe, beautiful, and clinically informed.

At Meadow, we believe healing requires both rigor and reverence. We integrate the best of modern science with the ancient intelligence of nature to support transformation across the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of health. Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, and rooted in the belief that dis-ease is disconnection, and healing is reconnection.

Meadow represents a new paradigm in medicine that honors the inner healer within each person. We are here to guide those ready to awaken, to remember their wholeness, and to participate in the healing of both humanity and the Earth. Today, Meadow continues to grow in Portland, Oregon, serving as a model for what healthcare can become when science and spirit meet in service of life itself.

Meadow was born from a vision to restore what modern medicine has forgotten:
the art of healing the whole human.
